Putting[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Pete Townshend[/lastfm] in front of a microphone is like handing a hand grenade to a monkey. The explosion is inevitable, only the exact moment of impact is in question. Yesterday in England he made the statement, perhaps tongue-in-cheek, that  “[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]The Who[/lastfm] were okay, but without me they would all of ended up working in the flower market, or worse,[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Led Zeppelin[/lastfm]!”

Now, there is some validity in his comments since Keith Moon had done work with Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones in 1966. Moon at the time was tired of all the drama in The Who, but stuck around for the paycheck. And all the brandy it could buy. Check out Pete’s comments, and see a video of how it might look if Moon had joined the band that he named in the first place.
