My neighbor used to make these for my Mom and Dad every Christmas, they were my Father’s favorite. I lost him recently and was thinking about him the entire afternoon as I was making these. Why wait until December, make them now!

These are especially good if you sprinkle some coarse sea salt on them before they harden. WARNING: when the sugar is heating up and bubbling in the microwave it’s like lava, so be very careful.

1/4 cup butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup light corn syrup

1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

Combine all ingredients in microwave safe bowl. (You want the bowl to be deep, the sugars bubble up pretty high.)

Microwave on high for 6 minutes, stopping to stir every two minutes.

Pour into lightly greased shallow baking dish. (I used an 11 x 7 dish)

Let cool. I cooled mine in the refrigerator.

Cut and wrap in wax paper. Store in an air tight container.
