This recipe is so easy, once you make it, you’ll turn it into your signature dessert. Treat your sweetie to something sweet like this!

CHEESECAKE WITH SOUR CREAM TOPPING

Crust

1 3/4 Cup graham cracker crumbs

2 Tablespoons of granulated sugar

1/4 Cup melted butter

Filling

3 8 oz. packages of cream cheese at room temperature

5 eggs

1 cup granulated sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Topping

1 1/2 pints sour cream

1/2 cup sugar

1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla

Directions

Pre-heat oven to 300 degrees.

Mix graham cracker crumbs with sugar,  add melted butter, mix well. Press into bottom of 13 x 9 pan.

Mix cream cheese and sugar until smooth, add eggs one at a time, mix after each, add vanilla. Scrape the sides of the bowl and mix again to get all the lumps smooth. Pour on top of crust and bake for one hour at 300 degrees.

Cool completely.

Topping

Whisk together sour cream, sugar and vanilla. Pour over cooled cake. Return cake to 300 degree oven for 8 minutes, NO LONGER. When you take it out of the oven the sour cream topping will look a little runny, that’s okay. The topping sets up as it chills.

Cool cake and refrigerate overnight or longer. Serve with your favorite topping, cherry, strawberry, blueberry or nothing at all.

* This cake needs to be made a day before you need it.
