A stash of lyrics composed by Bob Dylan have been discovered.
Written in 1967 during the Basement Tapes period, the poet laureate of rock and roll may have intended to use the lyrics in recordings with The Band in the basement of Big Pink, the house in West Saugerties, New York where some of the members lived.
Early next year, Burnett, who has received the lyrics, will assemble a group of artists at Capitol Studios in Hollywood to complete the songs and record them as a band.
The entire recording process will be captured on film and photographed and released as a documentary and book, along with the obvious audio recording.
Burnett is no stranger to the folk rock icon, having toured with Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue tour in 1975.
To date, Dylan has released 33 studio albums, 58 singles, 11 live albums, 10 albums comprising The Bootleg Series, and 30 compilation albums, along with numerous films.
