The Daily Cut: Ozzy Osbourne “Crazy Train”

Ozzy Osbourne: “Crazy Train”

ALBUM: Blizzard of Ozz

YEAR: 1980

WRITER:  Ozzy Osbourne, Randy Rhoads and Bob Daisley

Peaked at number-nine on the Billboard‘s Rock Albums and Top Tracks chart and “bubbled under” the Hot 100, reaching number-109.

Ozzy’s fans’ positive response to both both “Crazy Train” and “I Don’t Know” from his first solo album, Blizzard of Ozz, were incredibly important to him.  It was the best feeling he ever had, after getting fired from Black Sabbath and becoming really depressed for a long time.  He thought they were the strongest tracks on the album, and was beyond happy when other people picked up on them.

Ozzy Osbourne celebrates his 66th birthday today.
