It’s hard to believe that this coming August it’s been forty years (and over seventeen million records sold) since Boston’s debut album was released. And it’s even cooler that it still sounds as great today as it did then, which is a testament to the band and the vision and talent of their founder and leader, Tom Scholz.

As we await their 40th Anniversary tour’s arrival at Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica on May 18th, I had the good fortune to catch up with Tom to talk about the band’s storied history, his position as the patron saint of home-recording, and what lies ahead.
