Bad Company: “Movin’ On”

ALBUM: Bad Company

YEAR: 1974

WRITER: Mick Ralphs

Peaked at number-19 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Movin’ On” was the second single off Bad Company’s multi-platinum debut album. Drummer Simon Kirke tells what their guitarist had in mind when he wrote it. “That was Mick Ralphs’s song from the first album. He said when he wrote it he imagined himself driving one of those Peterbilt articulated lorries – semis, I think you call them. He had truckers in mind when he wrote it.”

Bad Company drummer Simon Kirke celebrates his 67th birthday today.
