So now that we are breathing the sign of relief that the RNC went off without a hitch (whew!) and the CLE is high on the list cities on the rise, I’m thinking I’d like to see us more in the spotlight, but perhaps with a few less significant events.

Anyone watch American Ninja Warrior? I’m watching city qualifying events in Philadelphia, Oklahoma City,  and Indianapolis, the new Public Square area would be so perfect for one of these events.  Lots of competitors from around the country as well as a few from Cleveland.  Lots of family and friends coming in to support them in their attempts at the city course.  And with Cleveland downtown shining at night as the background, I think it would be perfect.  I have to think the way our love of sports run through our veins, there would be a lot of us down there supporting the competitors.  Also plenty of part time production jobs for the locals to build the course and then get it all broadcast.  Not to mention the hotel room used, Uber drivers commissioned, caterers needed, etc.

It would also be awesome to see Cleveland as a destination for the Bachelor or Bachelorette.  Someone get on the phone to Mike Fleiss and his producers stat!  Hey, if they made a trip to the Pittsburgh area this part season, and have been to exciting places like Iowa, we certainly can compete for the producers destination rose.  And plenty to see and do for the contestants–Rock Hall, West Side market, museums, night life, and travel a bit for some roller coaster fun.  Maybe not as many hotel rooms rented, but plenty of exposure on one of the episodes to show off Cleveland to a national market.  And maybe not the same market that watched the RNC coverage.

I’m loving the talk of the 2016 YoYo Championships being in Cleveland this weekend.  Seems perfect for us.  Nice little international competition, fun for the whole family, a great weather weekend in a pretty city, and more opportunity for folks in for the competition to spread the word of the CLE.
