Author Hunter S. Thompson made you choose sides. One couldn’t help but either get on, or off, the bus after reading “Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas” or “Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail 72”. Modern journalism would never be the same after Thompson unleashed his new “gonzo” journalism, a drug and alcohol fueled stream of consciousness that somehow still managed to, more often than not, land a direct hit on the truth. Thompson died in 2005 and it seemed as if his “freak power” concept may have passed with him…or did it?
