The Browns waived cornerback K’Waun Williams Monday afternoon to reduce their roster to 75.

Williams was suspended for 2 weeks and fined approximately $30,000 for multiple violations of team rules after he refused to play in the preseason opener at Green Bay and later left the team for a few days.

“I really don’t want to get into that,” head coach Hue Jackson said when asked to clarify the situation that took place between Williams and the team. “Obviously, we have released several guys today and we are just moving forward.

“We had to get down to 75. That is the league rule. That is what we have done, and he was part of that group.”

The Browns signed Williams as an undrafted free agent in 2014 and he has played in 13 games in each of the last 2 seasons, including a total of 10 starts at nickel.

Teams around the NFL have until 4 p.m. Tuesday to reduce their rosters to 75.
