Vice President Joe Biden quipped that Metallica is "his house band."

Metallica performed their new track “Moth Into Flame” last night (Sept. 29) on The Tonight Show and host Jimmy Fallon could hardly contain his enthusiasm: In his intro, he gleefully introduced them as ““one of them most influential rock bands in music history.”

The performance marked the TV debut for the song, ahead of the November 18 release of the band’s tenth studio album Hardwired… To Self-Destruct. It’s their first since 2008, so it’s easy to see why fans are on the edge of their seats.

Count Vice President Joe Biden among those fans—VPOTUS tweeted a photo from the show describing Metallica as his “house band.” Not a bad rollout for new material! Watch the metal icons at work here:
