John, Paul, George and Ringo will be transformed into mini-figs.

Make room on your desk, or your LEGO collection, for the latest must-have Beatles merch. The Yellow Submarine, along with John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr are about to be LEGO-ized.

The Yellow Submarine set is due in toy stores (and wherever else you can buy LEGOs) on November 1 and will run $60. The set consists of over 550 LEGO bricks including the 4 mini figures representing John, Paul, George and Ringo, as well as a Jeremy Hillary Boob figure (which they are simply calling “Jeremy” for fairly obvious reasons). In the animated Yellow Submarine film, Jeremy lived in the Sea of Nothing and spoke mostly in rhyme, and is a self-described “eminent physicist, polyglot classicist, prize-winning botanist, hard-biting satirist, talented pianist, good dentist too.” Sadly, no Blue Meanies will be included in the set.

The set is dreamed up by Beatles and LEGO fan, Kevin Szeto. Szeto submitted his proposal to Lego Ideas and when it garnered 10,000 votes from LEGO Community Supporters, the set graduated to LEGO designers for review, refinement and ultimately production.

As an amateur musician and songwriter, I have always been drawn to the music of The Beatles. The creation of the Yellow Submarine model was really my way of showing my affection for The Beatles, as well as trying to pay a small tribute to The Beatles phenomenon. The Yellow Submarine is bright, fun, and colourful, which also made it a good subject to translate into LEGO form.

In June, LEGO fan Thomas W. submitted his Elvis Presley set to LEGO. His proposed kit includes an Elvis mini-fig in classic white outfit and big hair, with a full stage, including lighted sign, speakers and mic. And, the kit would also include a replica of the King’s famous Pink Cadillac. Currently, the set has just 345 supporters of the 10,000 needed, although he does have more than 300 days left to achieve the goal.
